The Witcher Wolf Necklace
Something out of my comfort zone this time. My first attempt at something that's not a dead object. Well, this is... err... Oh, you get the picture... :-D

Scene concept. More refining to do...
I want to make texture to resemble this one:
Starting with smaller parts. I'm going to try and texture paint everything. But I guess Photoshop will come in handy too at some point...
Well, after 3 days of trying that material proved to be beyond my capabilities ATM. Some parts were actually looking quite nice but the scratches on the head needed more work and it was just too much work for something that would be seen only from afar. So I settled with just some dirt in corners and few spots here and there.

Importance of Composition
Found this incredible article about importance of composition in images and movies and how to guide viewer's eyes to important parts and where the action is using on-screen elements and object lines. Must-read for everyone doing CG, photography and any other artistic work.

Yamaha Vmax Paper Model (in 3D) - Part 1 - Engine
I've always loved to fiddle around with modeling since I was a kid. At first, when I was 10, I was making plane models out of cardboard (or really thick paper) by following blueprints from military magazines. Next came the excellent scale models from Italeri which kept me occupied for quite a while. Then, few years back, i've stumbled upon this:
Yeah, that's paper! I was sold in an instant. I've never heard about paper craft before that. Of course I had to try it so I started printing, cutting parts, folding and gluing everything together the same day I found out about it. I took me 6 months (on and off) to complete this MT-01 model, but boy was I proud. The end result is awesome, more so when you hold the finished model in your hand than what can be seen in the picture.
In the meantime a second ultra realistic model came out:
This time, due to wife, kid, job and my newly discovered passion - 3d modelling - I've never came further than cutting parts for the engine. But given the circumstances, it was only a matter of time before I merged paper and 3d modelling into one.
So, lo and behold, I present you with (of course) Yamaha Vmax paper craft modeled in Blender. :-)))))))))) I'm starting with the engine, shown here. Frame, steering, exhaust pipes and tyres will come later. I'm making it as if I was making it out of real paper, so every part is modeled separately and put together according to assembly instructions. Many small parts could be just extruded from bigger ones, but I decided to make it the hard way just for the sake of it. Plus it's a great mind training, trying to picture every part how it should look once folded.
Stay tuned for more...
